These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Trails of France website and the booking of any tours, rail journeys or related services offered through it. By using our website or making a booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About us
Trails of France arranges guided tours and rail journeys across Switzerland. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Trails of France; “you” means the person making a booking or using the site.
2. Bookings and confirmation
A booking request submitted through our website or messaging channels is an offer to purchase. A contract is formed only once we issue a written confirmation. We reserve the right to decline a booking, and we will tell you promptly and refund any payment made if we do.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown at the time of booking and may change before your booking is confirmed. Unless stated otherwise, prices are per person and do not include personal expenses, gratuities or travel insurance. Payment terms will be set out in your confirmation.
4. Changes and cancellations
- By you — if you need to change or cancel a confirmed booking, contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges may apply depending on timing and the services booked, as set out in your confirmation.
- By us — occasionally we may need to change or cancel a tour (for example due to weather, safety or circumstances beyond our control). Where we cancel, we will offer a suitable alternative or a refund of amounts paid for the affected services.
5. Your responsibilities
- Ensure that the information you provide when booking is accurate and complete.
- Hold valid travel documents and any insurance appropriate to your trip.
- Arrive on time and follow reasonable instructions from your guide for safety and the enjoyment of the group.
6. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and personal belongings for the duration of your trip.
7. Liability
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for events outside our reasonable control, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos and design — is owned by or licensed to Trails of France and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or reuse it without our prior written permission.
9. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Swiss courts, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
11. Contact
